'Royal' Ramsey is the second
largest town in the Island, set on the coast with a magnificent backdrop of the
North Barrule hills. The town has a long promenade, a busy working harbour and
a wealth of small specialist shops - perfect for tracking down that special
holiday gift. Ramsey also has the Mooragh Park, the 'heart' of the town
- 40 acres of gardens and a fine boating lake with a lakeside
cafeteria.

Reaching Ramsey is a pleasure in itself. From Douglas you can
take the Manx Electric Railway, via Laxey, passing through stunning
countryside, or drive the famous T.T. mountain road which offers some splendid
mountain views.
Along with a wide range of shops selling everything from
exotic cheeses to couture dresses, a market is held in Ramsey on
Saturdays during the summer. The Grove Rural Life Museum offers a glimpse of
life as it was many years ago, while Ramsey Golf Club, with its immaculately
maintained fairways, offers a challenge to all golfers. |
