How much does IofM cost?
IofM is totally free!

Does IofM work alongside other existing Internet Service Providers?
You shouldn't experience any problems running IofM along with another ISP.

How do I get e-mail?
With Internet based e-mail you need some software - Outlook Express is easily downloadable through IofM.net. When you use this system you can only access your mail through your home computer but it has the great advantage of being much more secure and private than using web based e-mail.
How fast is my access?
That depends upon your modem, but IofM is optimised for all modem speeds. All lines are V90 capable.
We also support BT's home highway for some of the fastest access on the net.

What equipment do I need to connect to IofM.net?
All you need is a modem and dial up networking software, plus some form of Internet browser.

Can I get help over the telephone?
IofM.net's Premium rate telephone help number 0906 677 8866
(08:00 to 21:00 week days; 09:00 to 17:00 week ends, Public holidays excluded)

Will my BT discounts work?
Yes, you can elect IofM.net as one of your discounted numbers.The number is 0845 112 1366.

How do I obtain multiple e-mail addresses?
Change the alias before the @ sign on the address i.e. john.smith@iofm.net or jane.smith@iofm.net then enter into your e-mail programme and select "tools" and then "accounts". You could also just use smith@iofm.net as your email address.

Can we have CGI Scripts ?
Yes, We now support the use of CGI Scripts for use on our free unlimited webspace. We also support PHP.

Can I have Front Page Extensions?
Iofm.net does not currently support frontpage extensions .

What is the pop server address and the SMTP address?
Our pop server address is: pop.iofm.net
Our SMTP address is: smtp.iofm.net

I am having problems dialling up?
Double click on "my computer".
Double click on "dial up networking".
Right click on iofm account and click on properties option.
Check the number is 0845 112 1366.

Do you support V90 56K Modem connections?
.Yes, Iofm supports this type of modem connection.

Do you support ISDN ?
Again, Iofm supports ISDN connections

My email doesn't work ?
When you register your Iofm account you will be asked to download a .ins file. This file has all the details of our dial-up and e-mail account. Double clicking on this file will automatically set the e-mail account and the dial-up. This automatic set-up will only work if you are using "Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or 5. Any other browser will require you to enter the account manually.
Manual Set-Up of E-Mail.
Outlook Express Users (we recommend you use this programme).
Open Outlook Express.
Click the tools pull down menu, then select the accounts option.
Click on the mail tab and then click on the add button and then the mail option.
Enter your e-mail address john.smith@iofm.net and click on "next".
Enter your name and click "next".
Enter the pop3 server: pop.iofm.net
Enter the smtp server: smtp.iofm.net, click "next".
Enter the pop account name smith.iofm.net
Enter your Iofm password. Click on "next".
Enter your name for the account. Call it whatever you like. Click on "next".
Select "I will establish my Internet connection manually". Click on "next"

How do I set up my Webspace?
You require an FTP browser such as Cuteftp. You can download a trial version of Cuteftp from www.cuteftp.com
Install and run the FTP programme. You will then need your details that were given on registration of your Iofm account.
The site label is just for your reference. Call it anything you like, probably more useful if it's something to do with the site.

HOST ADDRESS: Your website URL, eg www.yourname.iofm.net
USER ID: your username (i.e. smith.iofm.net)
PASSWORD: your Iofm password

Click "OK"
Click "Connect"
Click "OK" on the popup window
Your computer directories are on the left. The website directories are on the right.
Find your files on your computer.
Drag from left to right to upload. Right to left to download.
Right click to bring up menu.
